1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WhisperCore software or the Sors website ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Services

Sors provides WhisperCore, an on-device audio transcription and speaker diarization application. The software runs locally on your hardware and uses open-source AI models (OpenAI Whisper) for speech recognition.

3. Pre-Beta Access

WhisperCore is currently in pre-beta. During this stage:

  • The software is provided "as is" without warranty
  • Features, availability, and system requirements may change
  • We may limit or revoke pre-beta access at our discretion
  • Any pre-beta license is personal and non-transferable

4. Software License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use WhisperCore for personal and commercial purposes. You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or sell the software
  • Use the software for any illegal purpose

5. Open-Source Components

WhisperCore incorporates open-source components, including but not limited to:

  • OpenAI Whisper — MIT License
  • PyTorch — BSD License
  • faster-whisper — MIT License
  • pyannote.audio — MIT License

These components retain their original licenses. Full attribution is available in the software's "About" section.

6. Privacy & Data

Your audio files are processed entirely on your local device. We do not access, collect, or store your audio data or transcription output. For details on what limited data we do collect, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain availability of our license verification and pre-beta registration services. However, as a self-hosted service, we do not guarantee 100% uptime. WhisperCore is designed to function offline after initial activation.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for any reason. Upon termination, your license to use WhisperCore will be revoked. Sections 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal proceedings.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
